"Hola, soy Jorge Vercillo. Soy carioca, de Río de Janeiro, de
Brasil. Yo soy un artista de la MPB contemporánea, de la música brasileña, y estoy muy contento y
feliz de participar en el Riviera Maya Jazz Festival este año, el 27 de
noviembre.
Voy a cantar un poco
de mi repertorio de 20 años de carrera, los
grandes éxitos, otras canciones que simbolizan la MPB contemporánea de Brasil, dentro de mi repertorio. Algunos
temas de las novelas, los éxitos de radio y también canciones que se acercan al jazz, la bossa nova, el pop - más
trabajado melódicamente y en armonía también – por fin.

Celebrando 20 años de carrera musical, en sus inicios formó parte del legendario elenco de las noches musicales de su ciudad natal, Rio de Janeiro. En la actualidad cuenta con 15 CDs grabados ya sea en forma independiente, con EMI music, SONY music, o en su propio sello LEVE. Nominado 5 veces al Grammy latino, es ya uno de los más populares compositores y cantantes de la MPB. Desde principios de este siglo sus canciones se han colocado en la radio y televisión brasileñas (16 temas de telenovelas) con rotundo éxito. Por su calidad musical ha llamado el interés de Djavan, Ivan Lins, Milton NascImento, Leila Pinheiro y muchos más con quienes ha grabado en dueto o compartido su talento como compositor. También dirige y conduce el programa Sarau en la TV del Canal Brasil. Es sin lugar a dudas una referencia de la generación actual en la música brasileña. Vercillo a la guitarra y los músicos que lo acompañan dirigidos por el bajista André Neiva, ofrecerán un delicioso y contundente espectáculo al más alto nivel.
